The F# minor chord
consists of one and one-half steps (from the note F# to the note A, a minor
3rd interval) plus two whole steps (from the note A to the note C#, a major
3rd interval). Therefore, the three notes that comprise an F# minor chord
are: F# + A + C#. This analysis holds true for all minor chords.
Notice that the spelling of the F# minor chord form in Figure 1 is F# +
C# + F# + A + C# + F#.
