The C# minor chord
consists of one and one-half steps (from the note C# to the note E, a minor
3rd interval) plus two whole steps (from the note E to the note G#, a major
3rd interval). Therefore, the three notes that comprise an C# minor chord
are: C# + E + G#. This analysis holds true for all minor chords.
Notice that the spelling of the C# minor chord form in Figure 1 is C# +
G# + C# + E + G#.
Figure 2 demonstrates an easier
fingering for the C# minor chord. Notice that with this fingering your
omitting the root, or low C# note. |
